Inspiration by DT Gayatri

Hello friends, I am Gayatri from +Kraqui Krafts and Quilling  here. The month of August is significant because we celebrate our Independence Day. In tune with the celebrations, this time we have the theme as 'Anything with our tricolor'.  Here is my inspiration for Challenge #6

I have quilled a photo frame with the tricolor. The flowers are made mainly with Malaysian flower technique. I love the outcome of this technique. The white flowers have blue centre. I used Royal blue strips, so it might look like black....
I have also made scrolls of tricolor to add to the theme. Hope this is an inspiration for you. Thank you for visiting.

Happy Quilling.!

DT Inspiration By Pratyusha :)

Heya!!!
This is Dr M V Pratyusha From Pratvam Progs.Though I am a bit late I wish everyone a happy 68th Independence day. This times challenge is 'Anything goes with Indian flag colors'.After a lot of thought and Inputs from mom I decided to do a quillography project.

Here I have used a 5x7inch board canvas , painted it in peacock blue. This is the very first time that I have used a handwritten font. I was a bit hesistant to do it all this while but my mom was like do it... And voila here is the result.

I chose to quill the word inspire as a part of my canvas series. As the challenge was to use the Indian flag colors, I used white strips to outline the word and later fill it with beehive technique. Used orange color for the outline of peacock which is our national bird, used green for the leaves wishing for a greener tomorrow. Used green and dark blue for the feathers of the peacock. I really loved the outcome.

Hope you are inspired by this project as you have time till 31st August to enter this challenge.

Lots of love
Pratyusha

Here are my Inspirations / Ideas around the theme

Since I have named this challenge group in the name of our Country, I would like to depict Indian culture and hertiage through this art of Quilling.

First idea is on quilled Kolam / Quilled Rangoli

Kolam is a Traditional art of Tamilnadu. Kambi Kolam / Chikku Kolam - My mom's favorite art. In this art form of kolam, dots called pulli are arranged in rhombic, square, triangular, or free shapes and a single, uninterrupted linear or curvilinear line, called the kambi, intertwines the dots. I have tried this art in quilling.

For more details about this art visit my blog Adhiraacreations

Second Idea is on Quilled Warli art

India has a rich tradition of folk arts. Tribes are the custodians of these arts and they live in interiors of various states.

I am very much interested in Warli art and it is the beautiful folk art of Maharashtra. This art was first explored in the early seventies.I have tried this warli art in quilling

A Quilled Warli Art - It has circles & triangles
