Inspiration from DT Pratyusha
Heya!!!
This is Dr M V Pratyusha from Pratvam Progs.
On 5th September we celebrated Teacher's day and all the old memories that were related to that very day rushed through in a flash of a second. I still remember myself acting as a teacher on the teacher's day and taking a Social studies class for 7th std students in KV.
As I just got back to college for Postgraduation, we had planned a small party of sorts for the staff of my department. I was given the responsibility to arrange for gift as a token of love from my fellow colleagues and I worked for 6hrs straight to complete 10 Mini magnetic photoframes. I could upload each of it on this post as a inspiration but I chose only one of the photoframes.
So here is one of the frames :)
The base is chipboard and I used Viva decor pastes for the first time as the primary base colour and trust me these pastes are super cool to work with and give a smooth and glossy finish to the base frame. Stamped the word 'Inspire' using archival ink and later on quilled on simple flowers and leaves to go with the frame.
And yup my professors loved their little surprise :)
Hope I inspired you.
You still have time to enter the challenge. All the best :)
Lots of love
Pratyusha

Inspiration by DT Gayatri
Hello all,
September 5th is celebrated as Teacher's day in India. I am happy to post my inspiration on this special day, being a teacher myself. I dedicate this to my mother, who is my first teacher and my kindergarten teacher , Ms. Elizabeth, who was a kind soul and gathered us under her huge wing of kindness. I also dedicate this to all my tutors who shaped my life.
Here is a simple card thanking the teacher on this occasion. Teacher is represented by an Owl, which signifies wisdom and knowledge.
Happy Teacher's Day to all, especially women who are born teachers.
Hope you are inspired by my post. Happy quilling.

IQCG Challenge #7 - Back to School
Hello quillers,
Thank you for your beautiful
entries for Tricolour Challenge.
Any guess on challenge for
September Month?
Since we will be celebrating
Teacher's day on 5th Septemeber theme for our contest is Anything goes with
School theme( teachers day, school elements - pencil, book, etc.)
Rules to follow:
1. Only one entry per person
2. Follow our challenge blog
3.Your Projects can be Cards,
Layouts, 3D crafts, Boxes, Quilled jewellery, Altered art, mixed media, Canvas
- Anything but paper crafts with quilling.
4. Please add your completed
project photos to IQCG challenge#7 photo album only.
5. Only New projects made
after 1st September is only valid.
Here is my work to give an
idea about the theme.
Since it is a school - I
decided to make a Parade arrangement to thank & salute our teachers.
My daughter is in preschool now,
and she used to bug me daily to make a gift for her teacher. Hence, i have
decided to make a parade arrangement with amateur quilling.(I have a big box in
my stash - all the quilled shapes and small 3d quilled miniatures which I have
done eight years back during the learning process of this beautiful art)
When thinking of Parade – The
Grand parade event comes to my mind.
On every Republic day - a
grand parade is held in New Delhi. The event starts with India's prime minister
laying a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, to remember soldiers who
sacrificed their lives for their country. India's president takes the military
salute during the parade in New Delhi while state governors take the military
salutes in state capitals. The parade showcases India's Defense Capability,
Cultural and Social Heritage. Each display brings out the diversity and richness
of the culture of India and the whole show lends a festive air to the occasion.
Awards and medals of bravery are given to the people from the armed forces and
also to civilians. Helicopters from the armed forces then fly past the parade
area showering rose petals on the audience. School children also participate in
the parade by dancing and singing patriotic songs. Armed Forces personnel also
showcase motorcycle rides. The parade concludes with a "fly past" by
the Indian Air Force, which involves fighter planes of flying past the dais,
symbolically saluting the president. These leave trails of smoke in the colors
of the Indian flag.
Here is my parade arrangement
Hope you all got an idea
about our theme.
All entries have to be posted before in by 6pm Monday 15th September. Your entry must be new and don't link your old creations.
