Readers are leaders by DT Ishani

Hello dear quillers,

Couple of days left to link in your "School memories" entries for our ongoing challenge.

It was in school that our English teacher instilled in us, the habit of reading. Not just curriculum books, but she assigned us with classic novels asked us to subscribe to The Hindu newspaper and would make us write 10 new words as every Sunday's homework. She would say 'Today a reader, tomorrow a leader'. This is the memory I recreated with my edge quilling project to inspire you to join us.

I used 3mm strips in white and red for my work. I think the whole project is self explanatory.

I hope you like my work and will play along with your 'school memories'.

DT inspiration - Geetanjali

This is the month of School Theme and yes, I am excited to create craft related to this! .

Spent the years in the classroom dreaming.
Years down the line, Classroom itself became a dream.

So true are the lines ‘Divya Raghunathan’ because mostly we don’t value the things which are in present instead we dream and worry about Future.

When we grow up then we realized that school was the best moment of our life. School Days are the best days as there was no work pressure, no worry of earning money as well as one can spend all the time in playing and enjoy the life.

Challenge Rules:

1. Must follow this blog
2.  Maximum of 3 Projects can be linked
3.Must be a new one made after this announcement

Teacher appreciation-DT Subha Vivek

Image may contain: text that says 'IQCG Challenge No.59 School Memories SCHOOL Indian Quilling Challenge Group'

It is necessary to create a project related to the school - a school bag, a pencil case, a Teacher's Day card, a calendar for the upcoming school year, a notebook, etc.
It is important to have an element referring to the theme(book, ruler, pencil, pen, quote about school or teacher, etc.).

As an inspiration post I decided to create a personalised wall frame with the Teacher's name.  This will go out as a Teacher Appreciation Gift.Gifting an apple to a teacher for the knowledge he/she has imparted has been in vogue from a very long time.  In the recent times all school/classroom/teacher themed products have been depicting an apple.  So my project too has an apple in the background which I filled with loose scrolls and the Teachers Name using the Edge Quilling technique.  To add to the theme I made a pencil too in the frame.

I challenged myself in this project by doing a typography which is just 1 inch in height..  The whole thing just occupies a 5x7 space and will be framed in a shadow box.  Hope you like my work.  Get inspired and do participate in the challenge.  Happy Quilling!!!

Inspiration post DT Shweta

Hi friends,
Today I am here with an inspiration post for Indian Quilling Challenges group with the theme school. I started with the project just before the summer break and I asked my daughter what was the best thing she loved about the school. Instantly she replied the 'summer break'! I laughed at her innocence and remembered how much we used to wait for the vacations. I decided to make this as my Quilling inspiration post.
A carefree girl, welcoming the vacations with open arms. I hope you love it too. It has already become one of my favourite Quilled Artworks!!

Winner will receive the below prize from shylaa
