IQCG#58 - Butterfly

Hello dear Quillers,

Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you. This month's theme is the 'Butterfly' and I think its one of the most colourful themes one can work on.

Here is my Butterfly which I made using colorful tight coils.

We at IQCG, are waiting to see the amazing creations you all can come up with. The winner will receive this prize.

Thank you!!

Butterfly card - DT Cathy

We're all a flutter this month creating beautiful butterflies for our challenge.

I was super excited for this challenge as butterflies are one of the first things I created years ago. I still love making them and trying out new designs. For this card I chose a simple two colour butterfly using crimped paper strips.

Come play along and remember to link your entry to the first post this month.

Till next time.

Flutterby--DT SubhaVivek

Hi crafty followers,

The challenge for the month of May at IQCG is to quill a butterfly.  Who does not love butterflies?  And so do I.  I have a butterfly garden in my backyard and I thoroughly enjoy my summer months  watching these flutterby’s.  There are innumerable colours and patterns found in this fairy tale insects.  And here is my inspiration for you.
Recent addition to my craft space is CRICUT machine.  Just learning to use it and I thought this is the best opportunity to put my cricut to use. I cut out a butterfly in black cardstock.

Blue is always dreamy. And so I decided to quill my butterfly in blue.  Blue is mesmerizing and mystic.

I used two different shades of blue to quill over it.  Made some highlights with white gel pen and my blue butterfly is bubbling with life.    Isn’t it beautiful?

Get inspired and participate at the challenge. Good Luck and be sure to abide by the rules.

Beautiful as a butterfly - DT Ishani

Hello dear Quillers,

I am Ishani from Quillish and am here to inspire you to join us in this month's challenge , where we want you to incorporate a quilled butterfly.

I made my butterfly free hand and then did some experiment in the design with blues and white. I must confess that getting a symmetric butterfly is very difficult till you have a sketch/print of a butterfly. So I thought of a design where it doesn't have to be a very symmetric design. I cut a 180 gsm strip for the outer border of my image and then used 3mm strips for the inside. I used a stencil for my background and a sentiment
