ATCs -iqcg57

Hello Craft lovers,

Welcome to the new challenge for April. This month we are going to play with ATCs (Artist Trading Card).

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are miniature piece of art that are traded around the world. Artists create trade and collect art at organized “swap” events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5” x 3.5”. These are small and self-made miniature works of art. Other than the size, there are no particular rules to follow. Most swaps are open to any media, materials or techniques. ATCs are not meant to be sold.

I used 3 mm quilling strips for the flowers and for the background I used water colours.

Hope my work inspired you. So take out your quilling stripes and join our April month challenge.

Now the stage is open for all of you to showcase your talent and win exciting goodies from Shylaa.

ATC Cards with buzzing bees

Our theme this month is all about ATC Cards. As I have never made these before it was a challenge to figure out how and what... but once I understood the basics it was fairly simple. Don't over think this one.. just make some small cards and embellish.

Speaking of embellishing...I choose a buzzy bee theme for all three of my cards:

I quilled the bees to fly in various positions and then added them on top of some diecut honeycomb. I also diecut the words to add an extra smile.

Come join in the challenge and remember to link your entry to the first post this month.

Till next time,
CathyS

Birthday Themed ATC's --DT Subha Vivek

Hi  IQCG followers,
Good day to you all.

I  enjoyed creating this inspiration for you.   Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) are typically samples of creative work made primarily to exchange with artists.  I decided to give it a twist by making it in a birthday theme so that it can be used as a mini card also.

It is indeed a challenge to make tiny quilled embellishments with paper widths of 3mm or less.  Look for birthday balloons, party hat, cake, gifts etc on my ATC's.

I stamped a banner  and birthday sentiment on to a cardstock measuring 2.5 x3.5 inches. Embellished them with quilled balloons, birthday cake, party hat, and gift.

Mosaic effect Quilled ATC cards

Hi friends!
Today I have done a project for Quilling Challenges Group as an inspiration post for IQGC#57.

These are Mosaic effect Quilled ATC cards.

The theme of the cards I have made to inspire you have been inspired by the little things we forget to cherish while we aim for bigger things in life.

We all are so busy that we don't see the berries we used to pluck and eat so carelessly when we were children.

Beautiful butterflies that fly by or sit on the flowers in our gardens are ignored while we text away furiously on our phones.

Small flowers that grow by the roadside were so lovingly plucked by us and made into a small boutiques to gift our mothers!

I hope these inspire you also to take a break and take a look around, enjoy the surroundings and little priceless wonders of our childhood. So what are you waiting for? Grab your thinking caps and Quilling supplies to enter the contest.

Motivating ATCs by DT Ishani

Hello friends,

I am Ishani from Quillish. Have you checked out the new Challenge
This month we are going to play with ATCs - Artist Trading Cards.

An artist trading card (or ATC for short) is a tiny, original piece of art created with the intention of swapping or trading it with another artist, not selling it. An ATC must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches or 64 x 89 mm in size. ATC are not limited to just mixed media! You can use all kinds of papers, embellishments, paints and inks to create them. Please remember we are a Quilling challenge blog and Quilling should be the focus of your project for it to qualify to win the prize.

In this challenge you will need to create 3 ATC's, a group or a set. Each one should be matching. Please remember we do have some Challenge Rules to follow so look them over to ensure your entries qualify to win this month's prize!

I played around the Ocean and used some encouraging sentiments for my ATCs.

I majorly made the waves with 3mm strips and added the props to give each of them a different meaning.

Stay Strong -as a boat in the rough seas.

Don't give up like the - Migratory birds crossing oceans.

Be a  lighthouse - lead/guide people to safety and success.

I hope I have inspired you to create ATC.
