Butterfly card - DT Cathy

We're all a flutter this month creating beautiful butterflies for our challenge.

I was super excited for this challenge as butterflies are one of the first things I created years ago. I still love making them and trying out new designs. For this card I chose a simple two colour butterfly using crimped paper strips.

Come play along and remember to link your entry to the first post this month.

Till next time.

ATC Cards with buzzing bees

Our theme this month is all about ATC Cards. As I have never made these before it was a challenge to figure out how and what... but once I understood the basics it was fairly simple. Don't over think this one.. just make some small cards and embellish.

Speaking of embellishing...I choose a buzzy bee theme for all three of my cards:

I quilled the bees to fly in various positions and then added them on top of some diecut honeycomb. I also diecut the words to add an extra smile.

Come join in the challenge and remember to link your entry to the first post this month.

Till next time,
CathyS

Music and Guitar - DT Ishani

Hello dear friends,

I am Ishani from Quillish and I would want to know if you've played at the Indian Quilling challenge yet?  Or may be you are planning something? The theme this month is my passion my love.
I have a clean and simple take on this challenge with my passion and love - Music & guitar! Not many in the crafting community know that I sing and play guitar and thanks to the challenge I made something for myself.

For this I stamped the treble from a stamp by CAS-ual fridays - Big Treble. For the treble and I did selective stamping as I needed the loop on the top of the treble to be straight. I did some free hand strokes to give a definition of a guitar and used a dark brown 5 mm strip for the edge work quilling.

The stamp has a heart, so I die cut a heart and mounted it on double layer of foam tape
 to finish my piece.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you like my work and will play along with your passion and love.

The eARTh without ART is just 'Eh'

Hello Crafty Friends,

I really had a looong break from blogging, but back again as a DT member of my favourite challenge yet again.

This month at IQCG we are playing with the theme My Passion, My Love. What a wonderful way to start the crafting year. Although I started my crafting journey with Quilling, I have absolutely fallen in love with art journaling and mixed media over the past few months. So, for this theme I decided to combine the two and create a mini canvas.

Its a beautiful theme to work on and I am sure we are going to see a lot of amazing projects. Click here to link your creations.

Winner will receive this awesome Bubbles Frame Die from Shylaa.

Thanks and Happy Crafting!!

Chocolate is my passion by CathyS

Hi all,
I am cathy here, I am super excited to be able to share my quilling with you as part of the Design Team. My friends all know that I am a certified chocoholic so when this challenge came up I knew immediately what I was going to make... my very own box of chocolates.

I quilled the different chocolate shapes in light and dark browns and added touches of white as well. The background is made with stamping the sentiment and then heat embossing it in clear. I inked all the squares around the edge in various shades of blue - my favourite colour.

This whole piece fits inside a chocolate box that I kept from the while stash of chocolates I received last year for my birthday.

They definitely look good enough to eat.

Winner will receive the Framed Bubble die from Shylaa.

Till next time, happy quilling.

IQCG DT Reveal

Dear Quillers,

I would like to personally thank everyone who took your personal time to apply for our DT call.

Here  we have the new team of IQCG from Feb-July 2019.

My returning DTs

I am Geetanjali Agrawal, a Commerce Graduate based in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, specializing in paper art. As a kid, I always had a passion to draw and paint.I have never had professional training for Quilling. Internet tutorials and my own will to make something unique made me what I am today. I still remember when I made my first card. I couldn’t even get quilling strips, yet I managed by cutting colored sheets of paper into thin strips. In the first few months, I focused on quilling jewelry and other small trinkets but then, my sister gave me an idea to try my hand on paintings. The first painting I made received a lot of accolades, which gave me the confidence to open my studio. After that, there was no stopping me.

I am Ishani, an Air Force Officer by profession and a mom to a two year old son. We live in a small place near Jamnagar, Gujarat. My crafting journey started around three years back with quilling, when a friend gifted me a quilling set. Since then, crafting has become meditation for me. I am more of a card maker and love to incorporate the humble paper strips on my cards. I love trying new techniques but I bend towards Clean and Simple style. I believe quilling is an evolving art and the versatility of paper strips give us a lot of options to explore.

My name is Cathy Sanders. I live in South Africa and have been quilling for over 17 years. I took a break from quilling in 2010 as scrapbooking was more my craft of choice, but picked it up again two years ago and now the bug has bitten again.

This is Gouri,a stay-at-home Mum to 2 amazing boys.
Being 7 years as a full time IT professional and a mum , did not leave me enough time to sit back and think about what else could I be doing if I was not crunching the keyboard and attending occasional late meetings.

After migrating to Australia with my husband and my son, I turned into full time home maker and a stay-at-home mum. Things were not easy at first and it was difficult getting used to be without work.

I had dabbled in quilling before and with the all the time I had now, I started doing it more often. One thing led to another and I got interested in card  making until recently I became extremely passionate about mixed media and art journaling. My craft area is my happiest and relaxing place.

I am extremely honored to be  a part of the IQCG Design team yet again. Thanks Shylaa for the opportunity.
