Inspiration from DT Ishani

Hello friends,

A new month, a new challenge. I am Ishani from Quillish here, to inspire you to join us with your quilled projects. Get your strips out or make them yourself (like I did) for this month's colour challenge.

I have an interesting project today to share. And I loved it so much, I would probably to do all the Zodiac signs. The colours of the challenge, made me think what in nature has such colours? And I couldn't think of anything else but the night sky. So I went ahead watercoloured the background (as I could use two more colours, I chose magenta and indigo) to give it a night sky look.

Quilling by Ishani, Easy Quilling, Quillish, Sun signs, zodiac sign gift, Galaxy, Night sky illustration

Coming to my design, Like my previous quilling, it's not heavy on quilling! I used strips of varying sizes to make the constellation. All the stars of the Taurus Zodiac donot appear very bright, so I took that as a clue to choose the colours and the size of the strip to make my stars.

I hope you like my work and are inspired to use these colours of the challenge and also get Rs 500 voucher from our lovely sponsors this time, the Craftsneed online shop.

Inspiration post from Sindhu

Hello Crafty friends,

Sindhu here, from colors of craft with my project for IQCG  #50.Yes, it our blog's 50th challenge and that too with our tricolor scheme. Please do participate and have fun.

Here is my project, a mini garden. For this I recycled a soap box.I have used 3mm quilling strips to make the flowers and leaves.

I covered the box with paper and layered a thermocol piece inside. After that I cut few strips of thick paper little longer than length of the box and pasted to both sides one by one which forms a support for  the grasses. The grasses are hand cut and pasted on the strips.

I made few leaves in green and flowers in orange, white and blue color .After adding stems, I  arranged them according to our flag.

The front of box is decorated with some hand cut fence, grass die cut and pearls.

Hope you all like my project and please do participate in our current challenge to win gift voucher Rs.500 from Craftsneed

Happy Crafting,
Sindhu

Make it festive--- Diwali cards

Hello Friends!

This is Jasleen here of Happily Ever Crafter and I'm back with my DT inspiration for this month's challenge at Indian Quilling group--Make it Festive. You can create anything but it must be associated with some festival or you can make anything with some added sparkle and glitter to symbolize festivity. But the focus should be on the Quilling.

The festival of Diwali being just round the corner, I thought it would be the best time to make a few Quilled Diwali greeting cards. Here they are :

The above card was made using 5 mm quilling strips and Penny black dazzler stamps for the background.

Here's the second card:--

In the above card, I tried to show a cardboard box full of crackers. That cardboard box was made out of a  kraft cardstock and the crackers are all quilled using 3 mm quilling strips. The silver 'Phuljhadis' are made by wrapping a piece of silver glitter washi tape over the toothpick.

And now the third card:--

Made some swirls using different shades of yello-coloured 3mm quilling strips,  added some sparkle and shine and voila! A sparkly and festive card was ready!

Hope my cards inspire you to make something of your own and participate. Do link your entries here.

Happy Quilling !

IQC#20, DT Post--White-on-white Quilling

Greetings Everyone!

This is Jasleen here back with my DT project for this month's challenge, white-on-white, but before that, I would like to extend my warm wishes on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. May Lord Ganesha help overcome all the obstacles and bring peace and prosperity to your lives.

Inspired by the festive fervour around, I attempted to quill  Lord Ganesha in it's simplest form using 5mm width of white quilling strips against a white backdrop.

White colour symbolises purity, innocence, completeness, faith and spirituality; a colour which , I believe, quite perfectly symbolises the magnificience of the deity.

There are so many ways you can interpret this month's white-on-white quilling challenge-- like an elegant greeting card with white quilled flowers, white coloured jhumkas with white pearls on them, or if you are finding it difficult to find time amidst the busy festivities at home, you can try making a couple of tiny white quilled flowers and add them to a white-painted hairclip ! Easy peasy, right? Well, you see, no dearth of good ideas. Participation is important. :)

Looking forward to your entries here.  If you have any suggestions, queries or anything to say about my work, please comment below. I love to receive your feedback always! :)
